Thank you for your interest in attending RedHawk Communications’ free Ethical Culture Webinar Series. This section will help you prepare your computer to connect to our webinars.  Here, you will find common questions and answers, as well as other resources to help resolve any issues that may arise between the iLinc software and your current computer setup.

Signing up for a Webinar

Visit our Webinars listing and find the webinar you’re interested in attending on the list. Click the Webinar’s title, and you’ll be taken to a page with further information. Click the bottom link that says “Register Now”.

The Webinar Invite e-Mail

Once you’ve signed up for a webinar, an automatic e-mail will be sent to you, confirming the date and time.  If you do not receive this e-mail, please be sure to check your e-mail provider’s “Junk” and “Trash” folders. This e-mail will contain the “join link”, phone number and passcode necessary for joining the session on its scheduled date.  Below is a screenshot example of a webinar invite e-mail:

Using the red circled numbers as a guide, here are the main parts of the invite e-mail:

  1. The Primary Dial-In is the toll-free phone number to call on the webinar’s scheduled date. When prompted, enter the Passcode as presented, so that you can listen in on the teleconference. RedHawk webinars are generally closed-circuit teleconferences, where only the presenter’s voice can be heard. This is done to eliminate any background noise during the presentation.
  2. The Join Link will connect you to the actual Webinar itself – an online “classroom” where the live slideshow can be seen during the teleconference. If you’ve never attended an iLinc session before or have never used it on your computer, please see "Setting Up iLinc for the First Time."
  3. The View Meeting link will enable you to download a PDF copy of the presentation you’re about to see, approximately 10 minutes before the webinar begins. The PDF can be printed out, or used as a guide throughout the webinar.
  4. The link, “Add to Your Calendar,” is a feature that will allow you to add the webinar to your e-mail program’s calendar, automatically inserting the meeting on its corresponding day and time with its join link.
  5. Finally, the “Prepare Your PC” link is a brief test that lets iLinc’s servers determine if you currently have the most recent version of iLinc, necessary to attend the meeting. If anything goes wrong during the process of connecting to the iLinc webinar, the iLinc Technical Support Number (800-799-4510) is listed for your convenience. An iLinc IT specialist will be available to diagnose your connection problem, based on your specific computer and its operating system.

Setting up iLinc for the First Time

If you’ve never used iLinc before, you’ll need to prepare your PC with a free software download. The download can be accessed in your webinar invite email, under the section entitled “Prepare Your PC.” Click this link, and iLinc will automatically search for and/or update iLinc on your computer. If you’ve never used iLinc before, it will install the software on your computer. If you’ve used iLinc in the past, it will recognize your current installed version, and upgrade it if needed.

Troubleshooting iLinc

  • If the iLinc software download fails, if you do not have the proper permissions to install software on your computer, or if your company is using a firewall or other protective measure that is blocking this software update, please contact your company’s IT professional to install the software through their administrator account.
  • If another unexpected error or problem happens during or after the course of your iLinc software upgrade, contact iLinc Technical Support at 800-799-4510, as they will need to know your computer’s specifications, operating system version, and any other information that may be contributing to the error.
  • It’s always good practice to click the “Prepare Your PC” link in your webinar’s invite e-mail ahead of time, to make sure that your computer can connect successfully before the meeting begins.
