Code of Conduct Assessment, Writing, and Design

Since 1992, RedHawk has re-written Codes of Conduct for some of the world’s leading corporations, including Chevron, Norfolk Southern, and Dow Chemical.

Your Code of Conduct is not effective if your employees don’t use it.

A Code of Conduct that is up-to-date and relevant to your company is the foundation of any effective ethics and compliance program. The RedHawk Ethics Solution has successfully developed a road map of best practices to follow in creating an effective Code of Conduct policy. Using your company tone and incorporating your key values, we assess and/or re-write a Code of Conduct that truly impacts your organization’s ethical culture.

Whether you already have a Code of Conduct policy in place and are looking for an assessment, or you have never had a formal Code of Conduct, RedHawk has an easy, affordable and high-quality solution for you.

Code of Conduct Assessment

  • Ensures that your Code of Conduct promotes compliance with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act of 2002.
  • Helps to serve as a meaningful part of an effective compliance and ethics program defined by the U.S. Federal Sentencing Guidelines.
  • Satisfies other corporate governance exchange listing requirements as appropriate.
  • Is a clear reflection of your company’s values.
  • Serves as a useful guide to managers and other employees.
  • Includes all of the elements that reflect current best practices among corporate Codes of Conduct from the standpoint of content, language and design.

A memorandum is issued at the end of the Code of Conduct assessment, offering suggestions and examples for any necessary changes.

Code of Conduct Writing or Re-writing

RedHawk will draft, or re-write, your company’s Code of Conduct to include:
  • Key ethics issues in clear, concise language that stresses the employee’s personal responsibility for ethical behavior.
  • Break-out of key points for each topic so employees can quickly grasp the message and their ethical responsibility.
  • Addition of clarifying questions and answers for each topic.
  • Real workplace situations that teach employees to recognize ethics issues when they appear.
  • Incorporation of your company values into the document.
